Shared Commitment and Expectations

Students

The school we would like is:

  •       where there is mutual respect for all
  •       all in the community want to be the best that we can be
  •       where we all make the most of every opportunity

To achieve this we will:

  •       treat people how we expect to be treated ourselves
  •       arrive to all lessons on time, have a positive attitude, and be ready to learn
  •       aim to be the best we can be, in all that we do

Staff

The school we would like is:

  •       where there is mutual respect for all
  •       a positive and supportive environment where students can learn and thrive
  •       one that enables students to be the best that they can be
  •       a positive one – where positive dispositions are a feature
  •       one where everyone follows instructions and works to support each other

To achieve this we will:

  •       be fair, consistent and understanding in our work with students and each other and parents /carers
  •       respect all students, all staff and all parents/carers; valuing difference and uniqueness
  •       strive to always be the best we can be, challenging aspirations for all – so students see us modelling positive behaviours at all times
  •       plan and personalise learning to provide students with the best possible experiences in every lesson, and activities across the school
  •       have an unrelenting focus on enabling students to achieve positive progress

Parents and carers

The school we would like is:

  •       where students feel confident and motivated
  •       where respectful relationships between students and their peers, and adults and students are a feature of the school
  •       one that ensures students leave as well rounded individuals who are equipped for the wider world
  •       where students experience consistently good quality lessons and make positive progress
  •       where there is an unrelenting focus on positive progress and high expectations of learning and behaviour so students achieve success
  •       where positive behaviour is rewarded, and unwelcome behaviour is consistently challenged

To support our children and the school achieve this we will:

  •         have honest, open and respectful communication with the school
  •         be positive about the school
  •         ensure my child has good attendance and punctuality
  •         understand and value that we are all different; understand that the school rejects a ‘one size fits all mindset’ so we are mindful of the needs of children other than just our own
  •         be consistent in supporting decisions made by the school – for example decisions around sanctions.
