The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department teaches both French and Spanish at KS3 and at KS4. Students are taught the basic skills of studying a language in the form of Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing each lesson. Students use these skills throughout KS3 and can transfer them if they opt for a language at GCSE. Students are encouraged to use the Internet to help them with homework, revision and research. They will also have the opportunity to speak with a Foreign Language assistant who will be a native speaker.
The MFL department aims to make languages accessible to all learners and to give students an idea of the culture of the country too, which is an important part of learning a language. Our team are a dynamic group of enthusiastic practitioners that are passionate about teaching languages.
