The House System

The House system at Brune Park is part of the school’s strong sense of belonging and community.

There are four Houses named after legends from the fields of Dance, Drama, Music and Film: Lennon, Hepburn, Gieldud, Fonteyn.

Each House has its own motto and ethos that all contribute to, and support the values of the school. The House system also supports students as they develop the ‘Foundations for Learning,’ brings in healthy and fun competition throughout the year as students guide themselves and each other through a passport award scheme combining House activities with progress and achievement in lessons, Tutor time and around school, attendance and punctuality to earn points for their House.  Activities this year have included:

  •         Cross Country running and our Annual ‘Race for Life’
  •         Egg drop
  •         The Crystal Maze
  •         Water Assault Course
  •         Making the Bed competitions for speed and accuracy
  •         Physical Noughts and Crosses
  •         Accelerated Reader challenges
  •         Spelling Bees
  •         As well as our annual fantastic sports day.

Every member of staff is also in a House Team – so competition, support and rivalry are a feature of student and staff combined activity – we also encourage and welcome parents and carers to join their child’s House and join in a number of events and activities.
