From February to March 2022, we are conducting a GFM Secondary uniform consultation in which all stakeholders will be invited to contribute to.
The GFM is now at a point in its journey where a shared uniform could further bring about a sense of unity and strong identity for our learners. Our ‘raising aspirations’ agenda across the GFM has a clear focus on supporting routes to employment and preparing our learners for the world of work. Part of this preparation for future life involves the move towards a more professional attire for our learners.
Should the outcome of the consultation suggest a uniform change is desired, discussions with learners, parents/carers and the wider community would begin early in the Summer Term with regards to the new design.
Any change in uniform would not be launched until September 2023 at the earliest.
In this consultation, we will take on board the recent Department for Education statutory guidance for schools regarding uniform.
