LEGO STEM (STEAM) Workshop

Construction & the Built Environment

Sixty students work today solving problems using Lego Spike Prime. Mr Shaw visited the school and with Mrs Munro applied the Engineering Habits of Mind (EHoM) to solve real-world problems, and had some fun at the same time. We were so impressed with the creativity and ingenuity they demonstrated to develop solutions.

Here are some of the comments from the students:

  • “I am enjoying just building in general and mixing different blocks and just being creative.” Jayla
  • “I think this is good for people when they use these lego boxes in STEM because it teaches them how to engineer and to teach them how coding works.” Giorgio
  • “It’s fun and helps understand engineering.” Ethan
  • “Because it helps me clear my mind from everything else that is going on and it is good if you want to be an engineer and it is also really fun.” Rhys

A huge well done to the GFM STEM team, led by Mrs Munro for another great day.
