LFT Testing Arrangements

We are pleased to confirm the arrangements for the return in September to our secondary schools and performing Lateral Flow Testing (LFTs).

The government’s position is that it is crucial that Lateral Flow Tests are conducted in schools in order to break the chains of transmission of the virus and safeguard the health of the staff of education settings and their pupils and students wherever face-to-face education occurs.

If you have already provided consent for your child to be tested then there is no need to provide additional consent.  Pupils new to our schools – including  Year 7 – or for any pupil who had not previously been given consent, will need to have parental consent which can be provided by completing the link which you will have received via email.

We must clarify that testing is voluntary, but those who are eligible for tests are strongly encouraged to participate to reduce the risk of transmission within our schools.  Even if you have given consent for your child to be tested, if the individual at any point is not willing to participate in testing then that choice will be respected.  Pupils who do not have permission to undertake a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) will still begin face-to-face lessons at the same time as their peers.

Lateral Flow Testing Timetable

The Lateral Flow tests will take place at the Beacon Arts Centre / Sports Hall which is located opposite Bay House School. Please be aware that you will not be able to park onsite so please use the local beach car parks if you are bringing your child(ren) by car.  Pupils do not need to wear school uniform but please note that face coverings are required in the testing centre. Please note that unless you hear otherwise the test result is negative.
