The Library holds a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction and e-books as well as a small selection of dual language books.
Find out more about how to access our e-books at home here:
The Library is open during term time from 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday or until 3.30pm on Friday.
There are two computer suites, each containing 30 PCs with a variety of software and the internet including access to the school library catalogue and library resources such as ‘The Day’ and ‘e-Chalk’
All Year 7, 8 and 9 students take part in Accelerated Reader – quizzing books they have read to earn certificates and rewards.
Students may borrow three books for a period of two weeks and one e-book for up to 28 days.
No overdue fines are charged for these items, but we do ask for a replacement, or the replacement cost if a book is lost.
All students may use the Library every day from 8.00am to 8.20am before school, outside of lesson times and from 2.30pm to 4.00pm after school for study, quiet reading and exchanging books. The Library is used extensively by classes during school hours.
The Library is actively involved in the school merit system, providing the collection point for house point tokens and the ‘shop’ to exchange merits to purchase various rewards.
The school Chess Club meets in the Library regularly once each week at 2:30pm. Beginners and players are welcome.
