Remote learning describes learning that happens away from the school site – usually online, and can be a blend of activities that students complete with their class and class teacher, or complete independently.

  • Also supports students with their well-being, social and emotional needs

Educational Provision Plans

We are aware that children may need to be home learning for different reasons, please click on the links below to identify our offer for the different absence scenarios.

  • Self-isolating – a child who is self-isolating should:
    • Check their Google Classroom links as their teachers will be uploading lesson resources from their usual ‘in school’ lessons wherever possible.
    • Use supplement the materials from Oak Academy (https://www.thenational.academy) which is an online classroom made by teachers.
  • Bubble closed – children will follow thier timetable or may be issued with an alternative timetable. Children should use Google Classroom and:
    • Check their Google Classroom links as their teachers will be uploading lesson resources from their usual ‘in school’ lessons wherever possible.
    • Streamed (live) or pre-recorded lessons where appropriate will be communicated via Google Classroom stream.
    • Use supplement the materials from Oak Academy (https://www.thenational.academy) which is an online classroom made by teachers.
  • Whole school closed – children will follow their timetable or may be issued with an alternative timetable. Children should use Google Classroom and:
    • Check their Google Classroom links as their teachers will be uploading lesson resources from their usual ‘in school’ lessons wherever possible.

Contingency

Wanting to navigate around Google? Please access our Google  Quick Start Guides 

No access to the Google Classroom? Please contact your child’s year office for support.  While this is happening please access, Oak Academy, the government’s online lesson platform can be accessed by all learners at any time of the academic year. The Oak Academy provides teaching and learning resources for all curriculum areas and can be used for remote learning for every year group.

No access to a device? If your child does not have access to a device such as a PC or laptop and/or the internet, please contact us as a matter of urgency to discuss alternative arrangements.

 

NB: Data Protection

  • Staff are responsible for adhering to the GDPR when teaching remotely and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of their devices at all times.
  • Sensitive data will only be transferred between devices if it is necessary to do so for the purpose of remote learning and teaching.
  • Any breach of confidentiality will be reported to the DPO.
