Visit from Archbishop’s Commission

We were pleased to welcome visitors from the Archbishop’s Commission on Families & Households and the Church of England.

Chair of the Commission, Professor Janet Walker OBE, and National Children’s Advisor for the Church of England Mary Hawes, joined us at the Gosport Community Hub to speak with students, staff, parents and volunteers from our community about the success and challenges of their school experiences.

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York set up the Families and Households Commission in March 2021 to explore out the pressures facing families and households in England.

Their work highlights the good work communities are doing to make a positive impact on families as well as supporting the barriers to learning in a young person centered approach.

Their main focus was to meet with student and have an honest, open discussion about current issues and the pressures of modern life as a young person.
