Ways to stay healthy and active!

A big thank you to Steve Osborne and the PE Teams in the GFM for drawing together a number of ways to stay healthy and active!

Mr Osborne says ‘We want to support parents and families in making sure students have access to physical activity provision during these strange times!  We want everyone in the GFM community to remind us all of the importance of physical exercise in maintaining physical and mental health. We are making so many changes to our life so dose of daily exercise also needs to adapt.  We hope these ideas help!’

We are all following the government guidelines, which include being outside to participate in one episode of exercise (run/walk/cycle) per day.  The guidelines are clear that this needs to be alone or in the household group and observing the guidance on social distancing; two metres apart from anyone you see.

There are plenty of options to take physical exercise in your home or garden.
The Physical Education teams have put together some resources to signpost you to some different options!
Follow the link below and look for the  NETFLEX presentation!

It has been great to see so many staff with children joining the “PE with Joe Wicks” in the mornings if you have not seen it yet follow the link – https://www.thebodycoach.com/blog/pe-with-joe-1254.html

Finally, The Physical Education teams have been working our Gosport School Games Organiser on daily physical challenges that can be completed in your home.
Follow these challenges on Instagram (brunepark_pe & bayhousepe) and on Twitter #SGOgosport  #HSGdailychallange, you will find videos of staff completing the challenges!
