At Brune Park, we believe that a healthy and varied diet is a vital part of being the best that you can be.
We also believe that we have a moral responsibility to help students understand important issues which affect their everyday lives, such as the problems caused by single use plastics, and help educate them in ways that they can make changes.
We want students to experience food from different cultures, from ingredients they may not have seen or tasted before, to help them become brave and bold.
We run a cashless catering system, which means that students do not need to carry cash at school, and their account can be managed online by parents or guardians. Parents receive itemised information about what their children purchase through the day, and our catering team will advise students about the purchases that they are making, encouraging them to balance their diets.
Fresh water will be available to students before school and at break times at no cost. Please be aware that we no longer use plastic cups, and so students will need to bring their own water bottle or they can purchase one from Footlights for 75p. This decision came about through our work with our Student Voice.
A recent development is our partnership with Fare Share, a national company who work to redistribute surplus food, to prevent it going to waste. We are looking forward to the innovations this partnership will bring to our menu.
