Update on RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete)

Brune Park New Building

Dear Parents and Carers

Update on RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete)

We hope you had a lovely Summer break. It has been great to welcome our young people back on to our site this morning.

Following the significant national news coverage, we wanted to confirm that Brune Park School is free from RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete). The DfE survey team visited the school over the summer break and have reported no RAAC in any of our buildings.

We wish to thank our site and IT teams who have continued to work hard over the summer to make improvements to our site including refurbishment of a number of classrooms and circulation spaces, window replacements, improved signage and upgraded IT systems. Most notably, we start this term with the new building complete and ready to welcome our learners. The classrooms in this building will be for Geography and History lessons. We are very proud that this building is the first Net Zero in operation building on a GFM site, something we are aiming to expand over the coming years to meet our target of a net zero site by (or before) 2030.

Thank you for your continued support.
