Modern Foreign Languages

Why not use the school closure to spend 15 minutes each day practising a language?

It could be one of the languages you are studying at school or … one of your choice!

(did you know we have a group of students at Brune Park teaching themselves Russian!)

Your Languages teachers are also available to you through google classroom and have provided you with some languages learning so you keep up to date with your languages study.

The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department teaches French at KS3 and KS4. Students are taught the basic skills of studying a language in the form of listening, reading, speaking and writing each lesson. Students use these skills throughout KS3 and can transfer them if they opt for a language at GCSE. Students are encouraged to use the Internet to help them with homework, revision and research.

The MFL department aims to make languages accessible to all learners and to give students an idea of the culture of the country too, which is an important part of learning a language. Our team is a dynamic group of enthusiastic practitioners, who are passionate about teaching languages.
