Mrs Gardner – Librarian
8:00am – 4:00pm Monday to Thursday
8:00am – 3:30pm Friday
(There may be occasions when the LRC is closed due to staff training or meetings. These closures will be advertised and where possible 24 hours’ notice will be given).
All resources in the library (except DVDs) can be borrowed for two weeks, with the option to renew resources if required for longer.
Students can use the library system Eclipse.net to search for books, listen to author podcasts and to search for reliable websites; as well as write book reviews and reserve books that are currently unavailable.
All resources borrowed from the LRC must be issued at the main library desk by a member of staff, or via the student self-service terminal.
Students are reminded to renew books should they be required longer than two weeks, to avoid unnecessary overdue reminders. Likewise, please inform the library if a resource has been lost or damaged.
Students have access to a number of eResources:
A daily online newspaper for teenagers focusing on the big issues that are transforming the world. Helps explain current affairs in short illustrated articles, picking out the underlying issues that are shaping the world.
eChalk provides educational games, simulations, puzzles and activities created with a focus on learning through fun.
Students have access to our virtual library where eBooks and audio books can be borrowed 24/7 through our GFM online platform. If you prefer to read online or listen to an audio book, you can access these on your device instantly and free of charge.
Download the App by searching for ePlatform by Wheelers. Once downloaded, search for GFM (Gosport and Fareham Multi-Academy Trust). For further information, please visit the library.
The library staff aim to promote reading for pleasure in a number of ways and to support students by providing a range of resources to facilitate learning. We host numerous events throughout the year including an author visit, the celebration of World Book Day as well as themed reading weeks. The library promotes research and study skills and works closely with students requiring reading support and intervention.
Please visit, follow and like @BruneParkLRC to keep up-to-date with all the latest information.
