Controlling transmission of the virus in schools

We are looking forward to welcoming the majority of students back onto the school site on Tuesday November 3, and to be greeting one Year 10 bubble for their online learning school activity.

Now, more than ever, we can value and fully use every minute of our learning time together and we’re all so pleased that school will remain fully open through the National Lock down.

We have been working with Public Health England to review our safety practices in school now that we are entering a new period in the pandemic of Controlling transmission of the virus.

The safety of our community remains an absolute priority, we need every student and every member of staff to attend school when they are well, to isolate and get tested if they display virus symptoms* and to continue being responsible with every safety measure.  It is good safety practices that control the spread of the virus:

  • regularly and thoroughly wash hands, and using sanitiser
  • socially distancing from members of staff and students in other bubbles
  • wearing a face covering to and from lessons and in every communal area. This is now mandatory.

Parents and students please make sure that you have a face covering with you in school at all times.

*When to not attend the school site, and to seek an immediate test:

If you have a high temperature

If you have loss of taste or smell

If you have a new and continuous cough.
