Girls take young Robin under their wing

On Friday, 2 public spirited students carried in a baby bird which they had found on the ground, on their way to school.  Staff and students took it in turns digging for worms and feeding the young bird throughout the day, before taking him along to The Ark in Stubbington. The Ark identified it as a young robin and placed him with another, slightly older, robin in their own nest and continued to feed it every hour. A member of The Ark staff said, ‘He is in good shape, still very lively and vocal, so there is a good chance he will be released in the future.’ The students were praised for their actions in making sure the young robin was fed so regularly as the first few hours are the most crucial. We even managed to get him doing some reading practice. Excellent job everyone!
